Obituary

Cynthia J. (Anderson) Zakopyko slipped away after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Cindy, as everyone called her, was born and raised in Edmonds, WA. She was a graduate of Edmonds High School and went on to get her graduate degree in Home Economics from Central Washington University. She continued her education and obtained her masters at the University of Washington. She experienced several career opportunities and during this time met and married her life-long love, Jim (Zaky). They both went on to enjoy wonderful careers at GTE/Verizon for 26 years. Cindy's longest and favorite position was as the office manager at Terrell Education Center for 25 years. She made many wonderful friends while growing up in the Edmonds neighborhood, during high school, college and her career. She always shared stories with her family about her wonderful friends and their adventures. These stories were always told with a gleam in her eye and often a mischievous smile. We want to thank you all for those treasured friendships and memories. Cindy requested no memorial service. Her wish was for everyone who would have attended, to utilize that time building special memories with their loved ones. Cindy is survived by her husband, Zaky; her brother, Douglas Anderson and family in Navarre, FL; her sister, Debra Karber and family in Lynnwood, WA. Cindy is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as grand-nieces and nephews. All of you were very special to Cindy and she loved you all. The family wants to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this time. They ask that any memorial you wish to make to Cindy or her family be a contribution to any charity in the fight against cancer. Cindy and Zaky were best friends and lovers. We were and are still so fortunate.

Farewell to one of the nicest people in the class of 1966. Cindy always had time to talk, to anyone.

We all will pass but that doesn't make it any easier on those left behind.

You are missed Cindy

When we were little kids, Cindy lived on Holly Drive and I lived on Walnut Street. We played together often, even after she moved with her family to a house on 2nd Ave. I remember well her brother "Dougie" and her mom Jean.

I will always remember Cindy fondly.
